Somali peace and Human Rights Centre strongly condems the attempt killings of Mohamed Amin Mohamud, a human rights defender, who has an enthusiasm for working with disabilities, disadvantaged groups and those marginalised by states.
Mohamed Amin believes every human being has equal dignity whether affected by conflict, poverty or whether you’re wealthy or well educated.
We are all human beings and we must be treated in a dignified manner; I qouted from Mohamed during a telephone conversation after he encountered the escaped from the attempt killings.
On the last day of Ramadan 12th May around 11:00 PM at night, Mohamed Amin escaped from an attempt killings from JUBELAND Intelligence Service men, where his car was showered with around 8 ammunition of K47 bullets, and they deliberately shot him, but With the grace of Allah, He have got safe and not sustained any injuries except panic and traumatic situations caused by the incident.
As shown in the pictures of his car there were 7 shots 5 in the tyres of the car and 2 shots at the door handle.
